Set just after the close of the Civil War, a former Confederate officer (Ray Milland) joins a vaudeville target-shooting show to avoid detection by the Union army. Working his way West, he falls in league with a group of Southern copper-miners being harassed as they try to make a living.

Very good story line and solid cast

I discovered Ray Milland through movies I inherited from my Dad. Since which time I've added a few of my own. This has a good story line, with MacDonald Carey doing a wonderful job as the villain! Milland who's just trying to get on with his life post War Between the States. Finally gives into helping the former southerners whom Carey and company are trying to swindle and steal from. Harry Carey Jr. Plays a Union officer in the reconstruction period who is very sympathetic to the Southerners. Worth watching
