This Western is set in the Arizona town and centers on former gunslinger Wyatt Earp who has been recently deputized and is helping the sheriff round up all the criminals. Earp becomes a lawman after he sees an outlaw accidentally kill a child during a showdown. Earp's brothers and Doc Holliday help him take on the outlaw and his gang. More trouble ensues when the sheriff is involved with the gang. Earp manages to get them on robbery charges and the situation finally culminates at the infamous O.K. Corral.

  1. Very good film print of a fine Western 5 Star Review

    ZEUS has given us a pretty good print of this classic Richard Dix Western. TOMBSTONE, THE TOWN TOO TOUGH TO DIE (1942) matches up nicely with the other Wyatt Earp films. Dix was an underrated Western star, and, as he died in 1946, did not have the opportunity to make many films in the genre. But TOMBSTONE is very good, and the print is also very good. The film is filled with lots of action and derring-do. I can recommend it highly in every respect.

    What prompted me to but this film was a bit of curiosity. I have 2 other Richard Dix movies on a pair of Mega sets of old movies on DVD (50 Movies per set) that my daughter had bought for me a few years back. I enjoyed those so I tried my luck buying this. It was a very enjoyable film and surprised how entertaining it was. in fact I watched this last night and the other Dix films, American Empire and The Kansan.
