Sovry is a talented painter, but he can not even pay for his hotel room. He is trying to keep up appearances as a handyman with various crafts, helping his friends. Elena, the wealthy artist of Hungarian origin arrives with Gabor. They will be neighbors with Sóváry, and quarrels arise. Elena and Gábor eventually get upset, but they hide their poverty.
