Actual Images: The Valley Murder Tapes (2008)
Chris Ekstein, Bill Elverman, James Greeley
When a group of filmmakers are stalked by a knife murderer, they turn the cameras on themselves to create a video record. Amongst them, Nyla Blake, a media-violence expert, is the object of the killer's obsession. Her book correlating the link between screen and real-life violence inspired his work as a snuff filmmaker. His desire is not merely to inflict harm, but to teach an exercise in terror. The fate of the group hinges upon their bravery and Nyla's specialist knowledge. They must outwit the killer, or else become his victims and join the statistics.
