In Kate Barker-Froyland's feature debut, Franny (Anne Hathaway, Les Miserables, Rachel Getting Married), an anthropologist doing research in Morocco, returns to New York when her brother Henry (Ben Rosenfield, Greetings from Tim Buckley, Boardwalk Empire), a young musician, suffers an accident that leaves him comatose. Franny's been emotionally and geographically distant from Henry and their mother KAREN (Mary Steenburgen, The Help, Philadelphia). As Franny reconnects with her family, she begins to understand and appreciate the depth of Henry's commitment to music, seeking out the performers and venues that Henry loved. That's how she meets Henry's music idol, James Forester (folk musician Johnny Flynn). Johnny's success and fame belie a shy and private man. A strong romantic connection sparks between Franny and James, set against the backdrop of Brooklyn's modern-folk music scene.
