While there have been several larger scale, bigger budgeted and lengthier attempts, this ones excels on character, pacing, and outstanding special effects when cgi thakfully did not exist. This is what adventure really is with its unflagging, upbeat zesty action and the wily, lusty rogue's awewsome feats in duress and adversity. Kirk Douglas was perfect for the role, even more so than years later in the role of Spartacus. Don't miss this one,
