Zaza: Another Undiscovered Gem

If you are a film fanatic, like I am, please get the film "Zaza" (1938) from Zeus. It stars Claudette Colbert, Herbert Marshall and Bert Lahr. Colbert is wonderful and sings to boot! Marshall is solid as is Lahr in an understated serious role. Also of note, Monty Woolley has a small role as a newspaper reporter. The story is an old one: the woman pining for the man that she cannot have. However, the talented cast, most notably Colbert, make it far more than it is. Let me close by saying that I frequently peruse the Zeus website looking for more hidden gems. And no, I do not work for Zeus! So, if you are a film buff and tired of the umpteenth showings of "Citizen Kane" and the "Maltese Falcon", on the conventional movie channels, check out Zeus. You will find many undiscovered gems, Zaza being one of many!Oh, one last thing. These films are not remastered in 4K or Blu-ray! If you are truly a film fanatic, it won't matter!
